GOOD HOUSEKEEPING

August 2015 - January 2016

Raising a family while still managing to have time for self-care and relationships is tough to balance. This is where Good Housekeeping has always stepped in to help. The brand is where you go for advice on what to cook for your relatives after you've picked the kids up from ballet and karate, whose sports bags you've learned to expertly organize, only to be followed up by an anniversary date with your special someone. The Good Housekeeping seal of approval means a lot.

As a member of the Good Housekeeping fitness and lifestyle editorial team, I helped to ensure that the publication was pushing in a progressive direction away from the "classic" housewife and towards the modern woman.

Assisting setup on photoshoots, creating materials for GH segments of Good Morning America, writing HEDs for 30 minute exercises, creating holiday arts and crafts, finding and contacting interviewees, and writing travel itineraries were part of my main responsibilities.  Much of my time was also spent on organizing the winners of giveaways and choosing the "Seal of Cuteness" monthly award, the fluffiest of all animals.

When called upon, I was also a "test dummy" in the Good Housekeeping test kitchen. The cookies were a plus.

WASHINGTON SQUARE NEWS

January 2016 - May 2017

As a writer at WSN, I shared stories about my time traveling Eastern Europe and wrote for the entertainment section relating mostly to music. I wrote HEDS, pitches, and was responsible for seeking out my own sources for interviews. While at WSN I also worked on deadlines and was able to explore my own voice when writing about travel and music, two topics very close to my heart and important for my own personal growth as a creator.

JEDLICKA USTAV & LONDYNSKA SCHOOLS IN PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

January 2016 – May 2016

While studying abroad in the Czech Republic, I tutored eight-year-old Czech students in English.

I implemented lesson plans for conversations with students about unit topics such as: clothing, around the village, family, sports. I also exposed students to "American" culture in personal presentations and spoke about the allure of traveling to a country with a different way of life and history. I also graded English language homework, read stories to students, and collaborated on lesson plans for students with their teacher.

PRAGUE WANDERING

January 2016 - May 2016

Have you ever felt homesick or like you needed a better understanding of your new home? Prague Wandering is an online magazine catered to ex-pats living in the Czech Republic.

As a member of the Prague Wandering team, I served as a features editor, copy-editor, website designer, and photo editor. I also reported on topics such as condom usage in the Czech Republic and on the cultural stigmas that Czech female MMA fighters faced in a post-communist society. It was at Prague Wandering that I utilized my ability to create and organize media across platforms to appeal to a unique audience.

METAVISON

June 2016 - August 2016

Ever have a great idea but struggle to have it reach as many people as possible? MetaVision Media, a part of GroupM, helps companies plan and advertise their events to create maximum reach.

As a part of the Nestlé marketing team, I worked to help promote foreign water projects such as San Pellegrino drinks and the regional water brand Poland Spring. I helped with everything from organizing social media strategies and budget, creating decks, consumer analysis, and SEO analytics, while also helping to coordinate events between Perrier water and Refinery29's "29 Rooms" series.

Creating a advertising and budget plan for PANDORA, and brainstorming new branded content strategies for interactive media were also part of my wheelhouse.

COMPLEX

August 2016 - January 2017

The outskirts of mainstream culture, that is where COMPLEX sits. COMPLEX covers the culture of our generation, covering sneaker culture, hip-hop, rap, fashion, food, and political discourse. No matter what the subject, COMPLEX is sure to push their creative limits to fit the taste of the the young generation about to lead the world.

As a part of COMPLEX's documentary team, I was involved with setting up lighting and cameras for shoots and acting as the second camera for B-Roll. Once shoots were completed, I sifted through footage to sort out the best shots and made tentative orders for the documentaries. After production, I would create IMDb pages, write synopses, and compose cover letters for film festivals.

Sitting in on team meetings, organizing gear, pitching ideas, researching and booking shoot locations, registering cameras and drones, finding interview subjects, and general research for documentaries were also part of my responsibilities.

SPOON UNIVERSITY

January 2015 - May 2017

Ever wonder what could possibly be cooked up in your dorm once dining hall food disgusts you too much and you have a mental breakdown? Spoon University offers easy lifestyle hacks, recipes, and pro-tips to survive college life.

This was my first shot at video shooting and editing.

Each month I would independently shoot and edit two to four videos for Spoon University to be shared on their website and social media profiles, while directly working with their headquarters based in Manhattan. Each video averaged about 30 seconds in length and capped at one minute. With each edit, I would push my creative limits to make each video more artistically captivating.

In addition to shooting and editing, I would write corresponding articles to the videos in the "modern college" voice of Spoon, create GIFs, take still photos for Instagram, and create tags for SEO.

Later on in my experience I become more responsible for video and article editing advice and upkeep, rather than shooting.

I worked with cultural institutions in NYC and the Czech Republic, musicians, artists, professors, students, and so on to create an atmosphere of cultural exchange.

BABYLON CHEESE CELLAR

February 2018 - January 2019

The Babylon Cheese Cellar is a local Long Island business that serves both small and wholesale artisanal cheese and charcuterie, while also offering activities and classes to expand the cheese love to their clients.

I created and coordinated an Ambassador program of chefs and food bloggers to promote the use of the cheese cellar's products. By curating and directly contacting the ambassadors, I was able to ensure that the content they product hold the cheese cellar's work in an elite class.

I also created videos, take photos, and use organic growth methods to ensure that the special atmosphere of the cheese cellar is being shared beyond Long Island. I reached out to local businesses for collaboration on events and products, and monitor social media successes to plan accordingly for future campaigns.
